Pete: Day 9

Spring
Week 2, Day 2
Monday

(A/N: Last week I did the incremental increase in Price Markup as suggested in the Challenge Rules. I decided to mix things up a bit and randomize the Price Markup amount which will then be used for the entire week.)

Pete used some of his profits to spruce up the store.
2

The poster he found at the Flea Market, Parfum L’esprit d’escalier, gives a nice environment bonus but doesn’t fit the decor of the store so he hid it behind this small planter.
3

Time to open the store!

Pete gets a call while he is minding the store.
4

Eric arrives and Pete briefly visits with him in between helping customers. Eric also helps crowd control by chatting with browsing customers while Pete handles sales or restocks.
5

That was really helpful. Thanks, Eric!

The report for the day shows that sales were steady throughout the day.
6

Sales Breakdown
2 Bags of Cat Food
2 Food Bowls
2 Litter Boxes
1 Neon Sign
1 Small Pet Bed
1 Large Pet Bed
2 Scratching Posts
1 Toybox
1 Cat Tree DeBox

Price Markup: 5%

Pete puts on his handyman hat and repairs the toilet.

While finishing up, he notices a flash of red outside the window. It’s Judith Ward on a bike! Curious to see what she’s doing, he heads to the front of the store and notices the two paparazzi standing there.

Because they are so busy with their phones, they miss seeing her standing there for a few minutes before she walks off.
8

This makes Pete laugh. Silly paparazzi!

He heads outside to fill the automatic feeder and food dish.
9

Pete is busy restocking when he notices the empty food dish. The food went fast!
10
(A/N: Pete filled the bowl and went inside to restock. On the 3rd item is when I noticed the bowl was empty. The small dog wearing a red outfit might be a glutton.)

He checks on the animals and sees a raccoon among them. How interesting! Pete shines his laser pointer and discovers that the critter enjoys it as much as cats do.
11

After washing his hands, Pete prepares Tofu Tacos.
*OUCH!* That knife is sharp!

Because of produce from his garden he was able to prepare 8 servings for only §2 … what a BARGAIN!
12

Pete puts the food away before heading to bed, hoping tomorrow will be another good day for sales.

  1. The store uplift is very pretty dear, and it seems to have drawn the customers in, the gluten pup made me smile, he looks as though, hey could you fill the bowl you missed! LOL Super fun reading Addy! Your stories always make me smile!

    1. Thank you very much for reading dear Bree! ♥

I took inspiration from the large pet bed and think those colors look great together!

There are several animals who eat until the bowl is empty. Poor Pete can’t keep them filled!

i like your strategically placed planter! lol The store looks good. I like that he has got some new items to sell. Sweet of Eric to drop by and help.

Funny how the dogs stand in a row for the food! The raccoon visited before. I”m pretty sure I saw him early. I like that laser pointer option. It’s fun to watch.

    1. Thanks! I think a nice environment score might bring visitors to the store. We’ll see. It was nice of Eric to stop by but I felt bad that Pete couldn’t visit too much with him.

I know! It’s fun watching the animals. Yes, the raccoon has dropped by a few times. I agree … the laser pointer is fun to watch! Simon is so cute!

Now I see what was so special about the poster Pete found at the flee market.. Great job hiding it, anything that gives an environment bonus is worth it! I see, even though Eric may seem like someone that is distracting Pete, by inviting him to hang out, he turns out to be very helpful and makes Pete’s business day even more profitable! That way Pete can have some fun and get some help with his store at the same time.. Paparazzi’s did miss out on a great opportunity, staring at the cell phone can do that in rl as well. LOL.. Very smart of Pete to use his garden fresh produce, when saving for a home, stretching the food budget also helps.. Great chapter, enjoying your story!!

    1. Thank YOU for reading & commenting! ❤
Eric Lewis seems like a nice guy (I’ve had Sims meet him in other stories). I can’t help but laugh at the paparazzi behavior because they often miss something unless it is right in front of them. I was pleasantly surprised at how much Sims can save when they use fresh ingredients.
