Day 19: Thursday

TODAY is Harvestfest. It’s also the twin’s birthday!!

Marc takes care of the girls and Whiskers before heading out to their garden.

He then takes time to appease the gnomes so they don’t interrupt much-needed sleep.

His efforts with his daughters are also rewarded: he became good friends with Ainsley.

Marc and Aicha discuss the durability of holiday decorations over breakfast.

It makes Marc happy seeing Aicha with their girls.

Mike has come to celebrate the holiday with them.

Marc answers the door because Aicha is busy playing with Whiskers.

Time to start making the holiday dinner. Mike seems excited by this!

Aicha is excited too! Mike tells her that home cooked meals with family and friends taste much better than quick meals eaten alone.

Aicha and Mike chat as well as celebrate the holiday spirit while the smell of delicious ham fills the air. Mmmm.

Marc sets the platter down, encouraging them to go ahead and eat while he sees to the twins.

But they don’t mind waiting because … they want to hear the holiday dinner bell ringing. It’s a family tradition!

Yum!!

Mike has to leave after their meal and they wave goodbye. Aicha tells Marc she’ll do the dishes since he made such a wonderful meal.

There’s nothing like having supervision while you’re trying to make a few upgrades.

Mike invites the family to come over but Marc politely declines. A short while later, Mike calls and Marc says “Yes, it was nice seeing him earlier but they can’t come over or go out at this time”. They agree on a raincheck.

The reason for the decline becomes all to clear …

After a quick makeover, this is Ainsley.

Some might be wondering where Aicha was during all the festivities. Well, wonder no more …

Marc and Aicha use some of their savings to start adding a second floor.

They have a lot to do before their home is complete but every little bit helps.

The toddlers learn by watching and doing as well as interacting with others.

Not everyone is amused by this.

“It’s okay, Whiskers! Soon they’ll be old enough to give you tummy rubs too.”

Aicha receives a call about a party at the night club and regretfully declines going. Maybe next time!

Marc smiles and tells her they have plenty of fun and good food right here.

As well as cute conversations to listen in on even though you haven’t a clue as to what’s being said.

Good night, sweet girls. Pleasant dreams.

They enjoyed the holiday, bought toddler things and started building the second floor. It’s been a pretty good day/holiday for this Drifter family!
