Players start with a pre-made Sim, Nova Curious. She’s an Ambitious Genius who’s a bit of a Geek. It helps that she’s a Quick Learner thanks to her aspiration, Computer Whiz. She also has BONUS Traits: Happy Toddler (all level 3 Toddler Skills), Mentally Gifted (from completing the Whiz Kid aspiration), Connections and Entrepreneurial (both are from the Rewards store).

Nova arrives with a laptop and telescope in her inventory, yay! She likes black, grey, green and white as well as listening to Electronica and Hip Hop. She also likes Cooking, Handiness, Programming, Rocket Science and Video Gaming.

She was given quite a few Skills of varying levels but instead of listing them, I decide to leave them as a surprise to hopefully entice players to play this Scenario.

The Scenario “hook” …

She moves into 17 Culpepper House. It’s on the 4th floor and at the back of the building but this pic is more pleasant to look at.

It’s a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment and has Gremlins. The deposit is §800 and the weekly rent is §400 and her landlord is … Chihiro Fujiwara.

(A/N: This makes THREE buildings that Chihiro manages. Is she the only employee at San Myshuno Rent Co.?)

There are two required tasks at the start of this Scenario:

• Place Your Laptop

(A/N: As soon as a task is completed, another one shows up. Or several do. From this point forward, I will have a list at the beginning of each day, showing what needs to be done, and another at the end of each day, showing all assigned tasks, in the hopes of preventing an interruption to the flow of the story.)

Nova makes Tri-Color Dango and eats them with a fork, ignoring the fact that they are on skewers. She seems a bit uncomfortable … hopefully it isn’t the meal choice bothering her.

Nope, not the meal itself. She’s just not a fan of the cheap fridge.

Nova seems to prefer the right side of the bed because she gets in on the left side and scoots over before going to sleep, then does the same thing upon waking. (looking at this pic, I think the table needs to be moved so it’s flush with the wall – caused by me when I moved the bed and end table)

UGH … She’s also not a fan of the cheap bed.

(A/N: What gives, girl?! Your traits don’t include Snob but you’re sure acting like one!)

TODAY is GeekCon which is right up Nova’s alley!

Wow, this looks fun! She’s looking forward to getting her Geek on. 🤓

First stop is the area where the Hack-a-Thon will be held. All of the tables are full but not for long. heehee

Nova approaches Umber Grove and asks to take a selfie with him.

(A/N: I wish the “take a self with x” action would result in a picture like the one we get by using our phone to “take a photo with x”. Since it doesn’t, I take one via phone and pretend it was the selfie.)

One picture (more like 5 because I like to keep the best one and sell the rest) has Nova deciding she likes Photography.

By the time Nova is done taking the selfie, Bernice Robles had claimed the seat vacated by Umber. Not a problem since other seats are available.

She seems to be doing fine but the guy next to her thinks his is trash or does the Lothario Trust Fund make him think of garbage? Nova chooses to hack Llamacorn Listserv and acquires §64 for her efforts.

She spends part of “earnings” on a tee-shirt and swag.

(A/N: I opted not to get any of the fireworks because I knew she couldn’t use them where she lives which is silly because I’m sure she can set them on the ground somewhere to light. Will buy some next time and give it a test run.)

She also buys a hot dog because the tempting aroma is calling her name.

Nova quickly realizes that Dirk Dreamer is not dreamy. He flat out refuses to sign an autograph. She thinks somebody needs to pull up his big boy pants and be more gracious regarding fan service. Oh, wait … Nova isn’t a fan and maybe won’t become one either. So take that, Dirk Not-so-Dreamy Dreamer!! 😛

(A/N: I had Nova start hacking before the Hack-a-Thon officially started so I wonder if her effort didn’t count towards the competition.)

This is a good spot for stopping this portion. There are a few more festival photos but either this part runs long and the other part a bit short or I roughly divide the number of photos between them. Roughly divide it is.
