2023 was a doozy of year and while the experience is one I’d rather not repeat, cancer taught me a few things about myself. Cancer is not all that I am nor is it my ending point. I made it through five months of intense chemotherapy, followed by one month of radiation, and took it in stride.
A positive attitude and finding things to laugh about made the multitude of doctor visits, tests, and procedures go as smoothly as possible. I’m almost done with the third month of hormone blocker therapy (one med will be administered for two years and the other, for five years) and dealing with less side effects but still a bit bothersome in their own way.
I’m grateful the chemo brain fog has lifted and am slowly working on re-building my stamina. It’s been quite the journey and I couldn’t have done it without my support team who have been there every step of the way. My husband and daughter deserve awards for being there through thick and thin!
May 2024, the year of the Dragon, be a year of small changes leading to bigger ones as we let go of the old and ring in the new.
XOXO,
Addy
Hope 2024 is a great year for everyone.
